PRIVACY NOTICE YOUR DATA MATTERS

At the Capital Girls League (Referred to as “CGL”, “we, “us”, “the league”) we respect your need for privacy and protect any personal information, including but not limited to any ‘personal data’ defined in the General Data Protection Regulation 2016 that you share with us. Our practice with respect to use your personal information is as set forth below in this privacy policy.

As a condition of inclusion in the CGL as a player, parent, club, volunteer, partner, sponsor or committee member being featured on our website, or participating in events, competitions, tournaments, classes, league business, courses or being put forth for trial at a professional club or through the England Lionesses Pathway you consent to the terms of the Privacy Notice as it may be updated from time to time. This Privacy Notice applies exclusively to the Capital Girls League.

CGL & Data Requirements  

The majority of the personal date you provide the CGL is required by law or national governing bodies to participate in events, competitions, tournaments, social media, the website and the League Committee. Additional information provided to the league is provided on a voluntary basis. When collecting data, the league will inform you whether you are required to provide this data or if your consent is needed. Where consent is required, the league will provide you with specific and explicit information with regards to the reasons the data is being collected and how the data will be used.

The categories of information about players, parents, clubs, volunteers and committee members information that the league collects, holds and shares includes, but is not restricted to:

·      Personal information – e.g. names, age, club, player position, contact numbers, addresses, parents and carers information and content you provide in correspondence, interviews and conversations.

·       Relevant medical information

·       Player Career Stats

 

WHY WE HOLD THIS INFORMATION

We collect and use personal data in order to meet legal requirements and legitimate interests set out in the CGL League Handbook, GDPR and UK law. It is our hope to create a positive virtual space for girl’s football, a platform for joy, accomplishments, life lessons, stories and deliver a well administered league. CGL holds the legal right to collect and use personal data relating to players, parents, clubs, volunteers and committee members, and we may also receive information regarding them from their previous club, if authorised by the family. We may use the information for the following purposes;

·  To oversee League management and support ongoing assessment, oversight and management of the quality of our league and services

·  To comply with the law regarding data sharing

·  To safeguard players

·  To contact parents/carers with updates, news about events and the league

 

WHAT WE DO WITH IT

We do not share information about our players, parents, clubs, volunteers and committee members with anyone without consent unless the law and our policies allow us to do so. We are required by law to provide information about our players to our Chief Welfare Officer who may in turn share it with the appropriate governing bodies to ensure that players welfare.

The FA has robust processes in place to ensure the confidentiality of any data shared with the CGL is maintained and limit access to said information. The CGL will not share your personal information with any third parties without your consent, unless the law or legal league policies allow us to do so.

HOW LONG DO WE KEEP IT?

Personal data relating to players, parents, clubs, volunteers and committee members at The CGL is stored in line with the leagues GDPR Data Protection Policy. In accordance with the GDPR, the CGL does not store personal data indefinitely; data is only stored for as long as is necessary to complete the task for which it was originally collected.

WHAT ARE YOUR RIGHTS?

Under data protection legislation, players, parents, clubs, volunteers and members of the CGL Committee have the right to request access to information about them that we hold. To make a request for your personal information, or be given access to your child’s educational record, contact: secretary@capitalgirlsleague.org

You may request

o   Be informed about how the Capital Girls League uses your personal data.

o   Request that your personal data is amended if it is inaccurate or incomplete.

o   Request that your personal data is erased where there is no compelling reason for its continued processing.

o    Request that the processing of your data is restricted.
